CUTE LITTLE COTTAGES

Greetings BRICK TRICK BLOG Friends!

This posting features images of a series of Holiday Cottages built by PHILIP BUCHAN for the 2009 Brick Trick display. Each tiny building sits on a 16x16 peg base plate and no two homes are exactly alike.

Below: The LIME COTTAGE has a bright yellow roof. Through the large "living room" window you can see the white holiday tree decorated with black ornaments.

Below: Another view of the LIME COTTAGE. On the right side is a dark red cottage built entirely of plates. On the left is an 8x16 peg base plate with a tree and flowers used to create landscaping as well as space between the buildings.

Above: The interior of the LIME COTTAGE is visible with the yellow roof lifted off. Each building was designed to have a removable roof.

Below: A building made of dark green bricks with a red roof has a tree inside constructed with two shades of purple plates and decorated with white 1x1 caps.

CITY HALL • TOWN PLAN SET

CITY HALL • TOWN PLAN SET

Greetings BRICK TRICK BLOG Friends!

We recently acquired the TOWN PLAN set, and while we usually like to design and build our own models, we like this set because of the many unusual and hard-to-find colors it has such as dark red on the cinema. The CITY HALL is constructed of DARK GREEN bricks, a color which is very hard to locate and highly sought after. Philip built the CITY HALL following the directions included in the set. We've already got plans on how to modify the building and add on more floors and space!

Below: The interior of the CITY HALL is easily visible as it is designed to be backless. This is often called "doll house" style.

Above: The Groom and Bride minifigures included with the CITY HALL set.

Below: A front view of the CITY HALL building. Nice details include the lamp post, clock tower and landscaping, (flowers).
