"SKINNY BRICK TOWN" Series of Buildings

Above: Brick Trick artist Philip Buchan created a town of buildings, most constructed with only an eight peg width.  Some of the buildings are only 6 pegs wide.  Can you spot the one 7 peg and one 9 peg wide buildings?

"SKINNY BRICK TOWN" Series of Buildings

Brick Trick artist Philip Buchan created an entire town of buildings, all constructed on very narrow "lots".

The scale of this series is suitable for minifigures, (and you'll see plenty of them hanging out on various balconies and many other places).

REMINDER: Enlarge the images by clicking on them.

Below: The back view of the street, with plenty of action happening in the tiny yard spaces and along the sidewalk.

Above: A closer view of some of the buildings.  No two structures are exactly the same color scheme and all have unique architectural details.  Notice the small alley created between the blue and the gray buildings, which are only six pegs wide each.

Above: The other end of the SKINNY BRICK TOWN block.

Above: The "teal" and the "caramel" buildings are only six pegs wide each with a narrow alley running between them.

Below: The other "alley" as previously mentioned.

Earrings Made From Minifigures

Above: Minifigure "Chef Girls" have been made into dangle earrings.

Earrings Made From Minifigures

We took several of our favorite minifigures and turned them into earrings.  We simply glued the minifigure wig or hat in place on the minifigure head, and then we drilled a small hole centered at the top.  Threaded metal eye-hooks were screwed into the holes and then proper ear wires were attached to complete the earrings.

Earrings make a great gift.  Find many designs in the Brick Trick Dude Ebay store, CLICK HERE.

DARK PURPLE OASIS MOTEL & ROOF TOP POOL

Above: The DARK PURPLE OASIS MOTEL & ROOF TOP POOL custom building sculpture.

DARK PURPLE OASIS MOTEL & ROOF TOP POOL

This posting features images for another BrickTrickDude custom building. The stylish, mid-century inspired, PURPLE “OASIS” MOTEL & POOL is an original creation from the Brick Trick Dude building studio here in San Francisco and is one-of-a-kind.

EXTERIOR: The PURPLE “OASIS” MOTEL & POOL project features 3 stories of space and a roof deck constructed on a 16x32 peg base plate. The front exterior is decorated on the sidewalk level with a palm tree and plants, as well as a cool tile design in the sidewalk delineating the motel entrance. The building itself is a stylized creation reminiscent of 1950’s era motels of the past. The second floor exterior has big “glass” windows and letters that form part of the signage, while the third floor exterior has more glass and 2 additional letters forming part of the “OASIS” sign. The rooftop sun deck has the swimming pool, BBQ, lounge chairs, umbrella, elevator and is surrounded by a safety railing; plus the “O” in the “OASIS” sign. The entire front façade is a bold color scheme of dark purple as well as yellow, white and light gray accents. The letters in the “OASIS” sign are transparent dark blue. The back and sides of the building are white with accents of dark purple and light gray. The back also features “grass” and a picnic table for motel guests, as well as a door to access the ground floor lobby. Modular construction techniques allow the roof and top floors to be removed for interior viewing and then easily re-stacked.

INTERIOR: The lobby and check-in counter occupies the interior of the ground floor. The space has high ceilings, a reception desk, a flowering tropical plant, artwork on the wall and a seating area. Plus an elevator that takes you to the other floors and the roof deck. The entire ground floor is tiled in transparent green. The second floor is a “double” room with two beds, lamp, desk and other accessories. The third floor is a “king” room, with large bed, sitting area with chairs, lamp, floral arrangement and more.

DETAILS: Project contains approximately 1,200 bricks and parts and includes three minifigures as shown, (two females, one male). The front sidewalk is constructed of white smooth tiles, (and accent colors), and does not match other building sidewalks of larger-scale architectural projects from the manufacturer, however the light bluish gray curb does match. There are no technic bricks with holes on the sides for joining to other structures. Finished model weighs approximately 3 pounds. Model measures 5 inches wide and 10 inches deep at the base plate. Building stands approximately 12 1/4 inches tall at the highest point of the rooftop elevator.

Currently this sculpture is for sale on Ebay, CLICK HERE.

Cafe Corner, Green Grocer, Fire Brigade and Grand Emporium

Above: Four buildings from the series include, (from left), the CAFE CORNER, the GREEN GROCER, the FIRE BRIGADE and the most recent release, the GRAND EMPORIUM.

Large Architectural Building Kits from Lego®

This posting features images of the large building kits from the manufacturer designed primarily for experienced and/or adult builders.

Below: The CAFE CORNER model which has been discontinued. This building has three very detailed exterior floors but came with absolutely nothing inside.

Above: The GRAND EMPORIUM is the most recent addition to this product line and has three floors of retail space which are nicely detailed and decorated throughout.

Above: The FIRE BRIGADE has two floors and includes a vintage fire truck. The interiors of both floors are highly detailed with cool furnishings including a ping-pong table upstairs.

Above: The GREEN GROCER has a pleasing sand green color scheme and a very detailed store on the first level. The two levels of living space above have a few details but are not completely furnished. The third floor has a lot of space taken up with stairs to a roof deck, (not visible in this image).

Above: The four buildings as a street-scape, shot from slightly overhead to display the roof-tops. We added the tree and palms visible in the back of the structures and we changed the small coffee mug on the CAFE CORNER signage to a red Scala® coffee pot.
